What this site collects.
Plain-English summary of what mattsilver.ai logs, who it's shared with, and how to opt out. Last updated May 17, 2026 (revised same day to extend visitor identification to Mexico and Canada).
The short version
This is a personal blog. There's a newsletter signup (Beehiiv), pageview and engagement analytics (Vercel + PostHog), and a visitor-identification service (RB2B) that may resolve some US-based visitors to a company or LinkedIn profile. I don't sell any data, run ads, or share my subscriber list. If you want any of this turned off for you specifically, opt-out links are below.
What gets collected
- Pageviews and Core Web Vitals — every page load is counted (URL, referrer, device type, country, load timings).
- Custom events — outbound link clicks, reading depth on posts (25/50/75/100%), theme toggle, audio play, subscribe attempts and outcomes.
- Session replays — a recording of your mouse, scroll, and click activity on the page. No keystrokes inside form inputs are captured. Used to understand reader behavior, never to identify you.
- Visitor identification — when you visit, cookies and similar technologies may be used by online data partners to associate your activity with a company or LinkedIn profile based on your IP address. Active for visitors from the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Opt-out link below applies globally.
- Newsletter signups — your email, the form you submitted from, and approximate location (country, city, region) inferred from IP.
- Error logs — if your browser throws a JavaScript error, the error message, URL, browser, and country are written to my server logs so I can fix the bug.
